Overview

Join us as we launch the SHAPE Arkansas Presidential Fitness Challenge — a fun, flexible, and statewide way to celebrate student fitness and participation.

How to Get Involved

  1. Sign up your school using our registration form.

  2. Distribute the official flyer and QR code to students and families. (coming soon.)

  3. Encourage parents to register their child for the challenge — it’s quick and easy!

  4. Assess students wherever and whenever works best:

    • In the hallway

    • On the playground

    • At practice or recess

    • Even in the Wal-Mart parking lot — we don’t care!

Wherever you catch them moving, it counts. Just send us their scores, and we’ll handle the rest.

Awards & Recognition

We will award students and schools all across Arkansas, including:

  • 🥇 Presidential Fitness Awards

  • 🏅 SHAPE Arkansas Custom Awards

  • 🏫 Top Participating Schools

  • 🎖️ Individual Recognition for Top Performers

With parent permission, we’ll honor students publicly and proudly as scores come in. You’ll start seeing statewide recognition throughout the challenge.

Every Score Counts!

Whether they meet the full standards or not — send us what your students achieve.
All scores are great scores!
We celebrate effort, improvement, and participation above all.

Let’s make this a moment where every student feels seen, celebrated, and strong.

A Challenge Led by Experience

The SHAPE Arkansas Executive Director, Chad Sanders, is a highly experienced physical educator and track coach in Arkansas. With over 20 years of experience, he has taught physical education at all levels, hosted State Track Meets, and worked at the university level to develop future physical educators and coaches. His deep understanding of competition, program development, and athlete motivation makes him uniquely qualified to lead this initiative.

Adding a personal touch to the challenge, Chad Sanders, Executive Director of SHAPE Arkansas, is also the proud father of standout runner and triathlete Owen Sanders of Little Rock Christian Academy. Owen is heading to Arizona State University this fall to join the USA Triathlon Olympic Development Team, chasing big Olympic dreams. This makes the challenge even more meaningful for Chad — blending his lifelong commitment to youth fitness with a front-row seat to his son’s journey at the highest level of sport.
